About Fiona

  • I have practiced as an Occupational Therapist since qualifying from Trinity College, Dublin, in 2006 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Occupational Therapy with a distinction in Anatomy.
  • I completed a master's degree in advanced professional practice in neurological rehabilitation from Plymouth University in 2016.
  • From 2006 to currently, I have worked as an occupational therapist in neuro-rehabilitation in the areas of  Acquired Brain Injury (Traumatic Brain Injury, Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness, Stroke), Spinal Cord Injury, Vocational Assessment and Rehabilitation, Housing Adaptations.
  • I have also worked as a Clinical Tutor affiliated with Trinity College Dublin, the National University of Ireland, Galway and the University of Limerick.
  • I am currently appointed as a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist in a National inpatient Brain Injury Programme.
  • I have over 19 years clinical experience. In addition to this, I have worked in a private capacity preparing medico-legal occupational therapy and vocational assessment reports since 2018. 
  • I  have attended the high court on multiple occasions as an expert witness on several high profile cases for individuals (Plaintiff & Defendant) who have suffered catastrophic injuries arising from:
  1. Accidents 

  2. Medical negligence including- cases relating to delayed diagnosis, injuries caused in the course of surgery, maternal injuries.

1. How can I secure an appointment?

Fiona accepts referrals from solicitors, insurance companies and The Personal Injuries Assessment Board. Please contact me on fiona@otp.ie to discuss the request. 

2. How much does an assessment cost?

All fees are calculated on a case-by-case basis. A fee estimate will be sent to you in advance.  

3. Where do the assessments take place?

This is decided on a case-by-case basis. Generally, Occupational Therapy aids and appliance assessments take place in the individual's home environment. Vocational assessments can take place over Zoom or in-person in my consultation room in Dublin.
